We are excited to announce we have upgraded our shampoo to a more modern, thoroughly cleansing formula with new protective ingredients. Since the original launch in 2011, better ‘clean’ ingredients have become available, and we’ve taken advantage of these new developments to modernize and upgrade your shampooing experience. Using the same great base formula you know and love, we’ve added two additional ingredients that score a very clean safety profile (and they are not sulfates), at just the right ratios for beautiful, shiny, clean healthy hair and a balanced, happy scalp. These new ingredients offer two things our previous formula did not, while keeping the same shine-enhancing, scalp-nourishing, non-stripping qualities of our original formula to offer an overall better performance for your scalp and hair cleansing routine. They are:
- A dense and lasting lather. Even when your hair is extra dirty, this reduces the chances you have to do the dreaded “double shampoo” or use excessive amounts of product, just to make your hair and scalp feel clean and rejuvenated. This is one of the downsides of many sulfate-free shampoo formulas, but the gentle and protective ingredient addition of cocomidopropyl betaine - derived from coconut oil - helps build that lasting foam that delivers a rich shampooing experience while protecting the delicate scalp microbiome and protective outer layer of each hair strand.
- Another coconut and sugar derived ingredient, Coco Glucoside, has been added as a complementary cleansing agent to our previous single primary agent Decyl Glucoside. Coco Glucoside helps to smooth the hair’s outer layer, complimenting the other smoothing ingredients of Apple Cider Vinegar and citrus essential oils and priming your hair for conditioner better. It helps the cuticle lie flat so you have a more frizz-free outcome after every shower. It is also gentle on the scalp and conducive to a healthy scalp microbiome.
To boost shine and support scalp clarity, we use natural astringents and shine‑enhancing essential oils like sweet orange and red grapefruit. These oils give the shampoo its signature bright citrus scent while helping hair look fresh, lively, and naturally glossy. A touch of organic apple cider vinegar provides gentle astringency and helps break down excess sebum, buildup, and pore‑clogging debris on the scalp — perfect for anyone looking for a clean shampoo that removes buildup without stripping. Available in both an 8 oz squeezable bottle and a larger 16 oz size.
With continued use, this shampoo delivers progressively better results.
